Michael Welsh, Esq.

Michael specializes in real estate development, zoning, construction, commercial real estate transactions, and the formation of partnerships and business entities for the acquisition and financing of real estate developments and investment properties. He was born and raised in Boston and graduated from Boston College and Suffolk Law School. Michael worked full time at Suffolk Construction as a project estimator while obtaining his undergraduate degree, and then as a corporate paralegal while obtaining his law degree. During his time as Suffolk’s corporate paralegal, Michael was fortunate to work with some of the industry’s top construction experts and advise them on legal matters for high-profile projects throughout Massachusetts and the Mid-Atlantic region. Upon passing the bar exam Michael was promoted to corporate counsel, then went out on his own and started a solo law practice and real estate brokerage to learn the real estate side of the business. For the past nine years Michael has used his wide range of experience in real estate and construction to help investors and developers execute successful projects from acquisition to disposition in Greater Boston.

Real Estate Development & Charitable Work

Michael is also the Manager of KM Development LLC, which he founded with Kirsten McEleney in 2021 to provide real estate development advisory services and partner with investors seeking to build new construction condominiums and apartment buildings. Kirsten and Michael support the community through their work on the Young Leaders Committee and Ambassador's Council of Caritas Communities, a charitable organization dedicated to preventing new instances of homelessness by providing affordable housing and connecting low-income residents to valuable social services. Caritas collaborates with the area's best service providers to ensure that its residents have access to quality health care, mental health and substance abuse counseling, and assistance with employment and financial issues.

In September of 2022, Kirsten and Michael successfully executed an off-market sale of a Quincy lodging house to Caritas, which was a happy experience where the residents kept their homes and Caritas helped them obtain new healthcare, rental assistance, and other useful support. The Young Leaders Committee also hosts an annual fundraising gala, which raised $20,000 in 2022 for "welcome baskets" for new Caritas residents containing essential living products and necessities. The committee also volunteers for property clean-ups and other charitable activities.
